Junior Draftsman Summary

CraneWerks is a fast-growing overhead crane manufacturer in Morristown, Indiana. We’re looking for a motivated individual with a minimum of one year of experience producing structural drafting and shop prints under the Design Lead. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for completing prototype, approval and shop drawings for overhead cranes, lifting fixtures, and other misc. material handling items
• Work independently and creatively, with strong follow-through and follow-up
• Be proactive, thinking ahead to anticipate and meet the team’s needs
• Communicate with shop personnel and management
• Responsible for reading structural and mechanical drawings, engineering details, and parts breakdowns
• AutoCad proficiency required
• Display structural/mechanical aptitude
• Microsoft Office proficiency required
• Display electrical aptitude and knowledge of electrical diagrams
• Familiarity with structural shapes and welding symbols

Qualifications 

• Must be experienced with AutoCad and have experience translating engineering markups into final engineered approvals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good communication skills
• Must be a self-starter, and able to problem-solve independently
• Well-organized and energetic

Education and/or Experience

• Associate Degree
• 3 years experience with AutoCad preferred

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
