Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Installer

• Follow blueprints and layout specifications
• Layout floor and ceiling supported systems to prints
• Move parts into position, manually or with cranes, forklifts, or telehandlers
• Properly rig equipment
• Install various types of cranes and support structures.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, lasers, and measuring tapes
• Perform startup and load test
• Overnight Travel (Required)

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Qualifications of an Installer

• Understanding of structural basics, including rigging, welding, erection and reinforcements
• Welding is a plus but not required
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Operate equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, cranes and telehandlers
• General electrical knowledge is a plus

Physical Requirements of an Installer

• Good general health
• Good balance, agility, vision and depth perception
• Some job sites may require working on beams and girders – installers should not suffer from dizziness or have a fear of heights
