Role Description

This is a full-time Operations Manager role at CraneWerks Inc. located in Morristown, IN. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day and strategic functions within CraneWerks’ operations, ensuring each department delivers exceptional service, quality craftsmanship, and on-time performance. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader who can align teams, drive efficiency, and foster a culture built on CraneWerks’ core values of safety, family, integrity, craftsmanship, service, and collaboration.

Company Description

CraneWerks Inc. is a manufacturer of overhead material handling equipment including top running, under-hung free standing, semi-free standing & ceiling supported runway systems, bridge cranes, monorail systems & hoists. Our services include engineering, designing, fabrication, assembling & installation & testing. We also provide turnkey services. Our electric bridge cranes meet CMAA class C standards and our runway systems are designed to AISC specifications. CraneWerks components meet CMAA, HMI, NEC, ANSI & OSHA requirements.


As our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the President and other department managers to develop and execute operational strategies that support company growth and scalability.
  • Planning and forecasting resources effectively to meet workload demands and project timelines.
  • Preparing for increased growth by identifying process improvements and plans for increasing production as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs); monitor and evolve them as needed to drive improvement.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support department managers across Design & Engineering, Fabrication, Installation, Service, and Special Projects.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure all operations personnel receive clear feedback, development plans, and advancement opportunities.
  • Promote morale, teamwork, and collaboration across departments.
  • Uphold company values and ensure they are embedded in daily operations.
  • Foster strong relationships between Operations and other teams, including Sales, Accounting, Dealers, and Suppliers.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all operational departments exceed customer expectations through quality, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement program focused on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company safety policies.
  • Create and maintain forms, processes, and tools designed to increase consistency and efficiency.
  • Reduce warranties, rework, and unplanned return trips through improved planning, training, and accountability.
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and tools are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate project completion and documentation.
  • Complete job closings for all systems fabrications projects.

  • Ensure any quoting done by Operations is timely, accurate, and professional.
