SolidWorks Designer/Draftsman

Company Description

CraneWerks Engineering department is in search of a Draftsman to be a part of our team. The draftsman will work closely with our designer, engineering, and professional engineer. This position will assist our crane fabrication and special projects department.

Role Description

As a CraneWerks Draftsman, you must be familiar with CAD and we would prefer some experience with Solidworks software or similar 3D modeling tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Create preliminary design/concept drawings
  • Create part drawings based off assembly prints
  • Create build/shop prints from system drawings for production
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
  • Prepare documentation packages for engineers and fabrication team
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications
  • Make changes to the technical drawings and drafts based on the feedback provided by the Engineers
  • Create “as built” prints

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software- AutoCAD and familiar with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling tools
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Engineers
  • Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and strict deadlines

The following are preferred but not required

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Drafting or Engineering
  • ADDA or CD certification is desirable
  • Proven work experience as a Draftsman in the Engineering department
