Overhead cranes, or overhead cranes, are a piece of elevated equipment that moves heavy material across commercial and industrial environments.

Each overhead crane is designed and engineered for a specific purpose. Overhead cranes can be designed for all kinds of configurations to improve capacity and performance.

Moving material around a facility more efficiently than a forklift or pallet jack.

Top Running

Ideal for Moving Extremely Heavy Loads

Top running overhead cranes include a rail installed on top of each runway, and the overhead wheels move on the rail instead of the runways. These can be designed in single-girder or double-girder configurations, both equally reliable and durable. Each configuration has unique benefits and is equipped to handle different load capacities, spans, and types of service.

Moving Lighter Loads

Underhung overhead cranes, which are often called under-running overhead cranes, allow you to maximize your facility’s floor space for production and storage because they are supported by the ceiling trusses or the roof structure. Like top-running overhead cranes, underhung overhead cranes can also be designed in single-girder or double-girder configurations. Since underhung cranes are generally ideal for moving lighter loads. the double-girder configurations are typically used to move only loads of maximum capacity, which is around 10 tons. They also have the ability to run side-by-side without interfering with one another. Another mechanical advantage of underhung overhead cranes is their ability for multiple systems to be interlocked, enabling operators to transfer loads between them. They can also interlock with monorails, allowing for material transfer along a fixed path.
