Conner’s Strategic Solutions
“We’re going to take CraneWerks to the next level.”
Conner Fuller is our Director of Strategic Solutions. Before CraneWerks, he was the coordinator for a melt shop at a local car parts manufacturer. He was responsible for all 3 shifts in 2 plants.
Conner was recruited by CraneWerks’ then-Operations Manager, who he had previously worked with at a melt shop. He started out as a Service Tech and was in that role for 6 months, then he took over as Service Manager. After some time, our President, Ashley, reached out to him about a General Manager position that he held for a few months until he was needed as the Production Manager. He held that position until 2023 when he was promoted to Operations Manager. Conner appreciates hands-on, strategic work – he’s always been around cranes and has been in the industry for over 5 years.
Conner brings process experience, having a full understanding of how a job progresses from start to finish. With the high influx of work at CraneWerks in recent years, there’s been an opportunity for Conner to get strategic and smooth our processes. CraneWerks has a large number of production jobs in work at one time that are changing on a constant basis. This makes it critical that we check to make sure we have everything we’re supposed to for our projects to go smoothly. Conner helps plays a key role in that. From change to change, he depends on customers at times to “paint a picture” for him to be able to quote systems properly in buildings that haven’t been built yet. The more accurate information we have from customers, the easier it is to accurately quote projects and provide the appropriate equipment for installation.
Previously our Operations Manager, Conner naturally began working on strategy development back in 2023. His inherent strength in this led to his promotion as Director of Strategic Solutions. In this new role, he’s focused more on the big picture rather than the day-to-day. As Operations Manager, he was working with the production team on a wide range of tasks like helping the service team on handling weekend emergencies, supporting parts issues, and managing staffing. Conner tries to gather as much information as possible and meeting ahead of time with everyone involved to get the team on the same page. With a thorough number of jobs on the docket, this can prove to be a challenge at times and is something he is working improve throughout the organization.
From Conner’s perspective, supportive integrity means keeping everyone in the know. He says, “If there’s a change in how we’re quoting something or what we’re referencing to quote … a lot of that comes down to communicating it. We have to be able to react fast and keep our promises trying to go above and beyond.” This is all a part of providing strategic solutions.
Conner enjoys how passionate everyone is at CraneWerks, everyone cares about what they do, and he doesn’t feel like anyone comes in, “just to get a check.” He’s proud to be a part of the strategic team who has made the largest single order in company history as CraneWerks continues to rapidly grow. A couple of his favorite traditions at CraneWerks are frying a turkey every Thanksgiving and playing in the Buddies on the Green Golf Classic.
“As CraneWerks gets bigger, there will be more opportunities…and I always tell everybody, whether it’s submitting a proposal or reaching out to somebody – you miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take. You have to extend yourself beyond what you’re comfortable with to improve…you really just have to believe in yourself.”
Conner’s most motivated by his family. He and his wife have been together for 17 years and they have 2 kids. Outside of work, he likes going to Top Golf for fun. He loves dirt bikes, motorcycles, trucks, and cars.
